Fito Reinoso with special guest Roberton of Los Van Van // San Francisco
"A powerful sonero whose resonant voice brings to mind the legendary Beny Moré, Fito Reinoso is one of the finest practitioners of música Cubana in the US. He played a variety of instruments growing up in Havana, including tres, bass, and guitar. Fleeing his homeland during the 1980 Mariel boatlift, Reinoso eventually landed in the Bay Area, where he launched a creatively charged band that served as an essential proving ground for rising Cuban-born stars like pianist Omar Sosa and percussionist Jesus Diaz. A gifted songwriter, Reinoso explores an array of Cuban styles, from son and rumba to timba." Yerba Buena Garden Festival
