Fidget Spinners: The new trend toy

You may be wondering, "What what the heck is a Fidget Spinner?"

A fidget spinner is a hand-rotating toy with a stable center and a disc with two or three rotating blades, similar to a ceiling fan. 

Supposedly, playing with it generates feelings of relaxation and satisfaction.  But it's no mere toy, it has benefits beyond what you may imagine.

The spinner was originally created to help students with disorders such as Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).  Experts in psychology and education agree that for some, keeping hands busy improves focus and concentration.

Why are they such a huge trend in schools? 

The Fidget Spinners' unique colors and designs allow users to choose their own particular aesthetic. Plus some of them have lights and whirling bits!  But probably the most attractive aspect of the spinner is all the fidgeting you can do with it, the cool moves that will impress your friends!

The demand has been so great that stores have often been sold out

Youtube is already full of tutorials teaching fidgeters incredible maneuvers. Kids and adults are sharing these videos by the thousands, challenging themselves and friends to become skilled in the art of fidgeting.

Unfortunately, some schools have had to ban fidget spinners, as a security measure.  One child in Australia suffered injury to his eye caused by a badly handled spinner.  Also, although the toys help some students concentrate, the the colors, lights and movements can be distracting to the rest of the class.
