9-year-old Angel Sanchez Builds Lemonade Stand To Raise Money For His Grandpa's Chemo
When 9-year-old Angel Sanchez learned that his abuelito was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer, he decided to help out.
He knew chemo would be difficult for his family to afford, so he decided to build a lemonade stand and raise $100 to help with the cost.
His mother, Chastity Sanchez, told the Sun-News, "He is just a boy and it can be hard. He doesn't really understand what $100 is [...] What he wanted is to just help his grandpa not have to worry."
The results were better than mom and Angel could have dreamed...
Hundreds lined up to donate. So many people showed up, the police had to give Angel a special permit!
Local businesswoman Marci Dickerson let Angel set up his stand outside her restaurant, and promised to personally donate as much money as he made on his own!
Altogether, Angel and his supportive community raised $30K!!!
“The response from the community, I can’t believe this, I really can’t believe it. It doesn’t feel real, but I’m so humbled,” said Mrs. Sanchez.
If you want to help out this enterprising young man and his abuelo, you can donate to his GoFundMe page.
