You may have missed it but Berkeley was ground zero for what many in the U.S. and world are calling a “revolution”.
A revolution maybe not in the traditional sense but all over the country last week, everyday people stood up for black unarmed men everywhere being shot and killed by white police officers.
No matter what side you stand on, African Americans and Latinos overwhelming get stopped more often and are subjugated to less than preferential treatment. As outlined in #Crimingwhilewhite, many Anglo-Americans see a world that is, often times, very different.
It’s important that Latinos support equal and just treatment of African Americans. Not only because Latinos are the same victims of discrimination and racism but becuase it’s the right thing to do.
