The roots of their music go back as far as the 1890s, and for decades they’ve been known as “The World’s Best Mariachi.” Mariachi Vargas continues to entertain audiences around the globe. Their legendary leader Jose “Pepe” Martinez, recently wrote the music for the world’s first mariachi opera, “Cruzar la Cara de la Luna” (“To Cross the Face of the Moon”).
